Toonel Privacy Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

Toonel is a VPN app for iPhone, iPad and Android (there are also Toonel apps for Windows and macOS, covered by this same policy). It connects your device to the servers you provide. The short version: Toonel does not collect your data.

What Toonel does not do

  • It has no accounts and no sign-in.
  • It has no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.
  • It keeps no logs of your browsing or your connections.
  • It does not send information about you, your device or what you do online to Salutified LLC or to any third party.
  • It does not sell or share data.
  • It does not run any VPN servers. All your traffic goes to the servers you added yourself.

What stays on your device

Toonel stores the following on your device only, and never uploads it:

  • the servers you added, including any credentials inside their links or configurations,
  • your routing rules and settings (for example the kill switch),
  • community rule lists you chose to download.

Deleting the app removes all of it.

Who can see your traffic

Toonel sends your traffic to the server you chose. The operator of that server can see the traffic that passes through it, as with any VPN. Choose servers you trust. Salutified LLC operates no servers for this app and cannot see your traffic.

Network connections Toonel makes on its own

Besides the servers you added, the app makes these small requests:

  • Showing a server's country flag. After a server is added, the app looks up which country its address belongs to, by sending that server's address to a public lookup service (api.country.is, or ipwho.is as a fallback). The server's name is first resolved with Cloudflare's public DNS. The services see a request from your device's network address; Toonel sends no identifier.
  • Checking your connection. After you connect, the app fetches a small page from Cloudflare (cp.cloudflare.com) through each of your routes, to show you the address and country your traffic leaves from and to check that the route works. Cloudflare sees a request from that exit address; Toonel sends no identifier.
  • Pinging a server. The ping next to a server opens a connection to that server only.
  • Community rule lists. Only if you turn on a routing rule that uses a community list, the app downloads that list from public sources such as GitHub. Those sites see the download request from your network address.

None of these requests include your name, account, device identifier, or anything about what you browse.

Permissions

  • Android: the VPN permission (needed to create the VPN connection) and network access. The app uses the VPN permission only to route your traffic as you configured it.
  • iPhone and iPad: the Network Extension (Packet Tunnel) capability, which lets the app create the VPN connection.

Children

Toonel is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes
